The European vs North American cyclocross scenes

The European vs North American cyclocross scenes

On this second episode of Dirty Talks, Lucinda announces her return to racing and Maghalie talks about preparing to leave for Europe. The girls then tackle the main subject of the day: What is the difference between cyclocross in North America and in Europe?
It is the question we probably get asked the most often, so today, Lucinda and Maghalie dive deep into that subject. They talk about sponsorship, about the relationships between competitors, the difference between the fans, and the differences in the "business" of the sport on both continents.
We also discuss about why are all the best women riders Dutch, and all the best men Belgians?!
Finally, in our Dirty questions of the week: Should the socks go over or under the leg warmers?! What is Lucinda and I's peak power? And the dirtiest prize ever won in a race...

Really enjoyable chat

Very entertaining glimpse behind the scenes. Especially appreciated given both are English as a second language.

A fun listen so far

I am a huge fan of Lucinda Brand and so I was excited to listen to this podcast and have the chance to hear her talk in more detail. I did not know Maghalie Rochette as well, but I have enjoyed getting to know her as well.

There are a number of great cycling podcasts featuring male cyclists, but very few produced by women. They face different challenges with racing, finding sponsors, etc. So the podcast provides an interesting perspective.

So far the podcasts have covered general information about cyclocross. Especially now that Brand has returned from her injury, I am hoping they will go into some in depth analysis of their races.

But in any case they are fun to listen to, and IMO, a “must listen” for anyone following cyclocross.

Oh the dumb things? ,

Great Perspectives

Only one episode in but some interesting insights from racers perspectives. Maghalie has other pods and is active on socials and is such a great ambassador for the sport. Lucinda is a champion and will add a European perspective as well as insight on all the World Tour road races she does with Lidl/Trek team. Looking forward to more episodes.
